Kate Hall leaves lasting marks in Maine
State Meet Highlights
Top Performances:
- Freshman Alexandra Hart of Thornton broke the Class A meet record in the 400 meters (56.87), and also won the 200 meters (25.95) and placed second in the 100 (13.00).
Top Teams: The Lewiston boys won the Class A boys title with 71 points; the Thornton Academy girls repeated as victors with 80. In Class B, Waterville’s girls repeated (118.25) and the York boys (96) got it done. In Class C, the Orono girls (132.75), led by Lauren Stoops’ three individual wins and a 4x400 triumph, and the Orono boys (88) also won.
Top Competition: For the second straight year, the matchup in the Class A 200 meters was an interesting one. Isaiah Harris of Lewiston was the 800 champion with 1:55.42 and Jake Dixon of Cheverus was the 400 champion in a meet record time of 48.45. So both seniors were determined to show their top-end speed in the 200. And it was Harris taking it for the second year in a row, 22.25 to 22.41.
